“Beanie”

This video was sent to me in 2023. The first time I watched it, I about jumped out of my skin! The second time I watched it, I was in disbelief. I have seen and felt many ghosts/apparitions, in my life, but to actually get a video of one “spying” is not easy to get. The third time I watched the video, I got a rush of excitement and I wanted to go to this family’s home and figure out what exactly was going on.

I contacted the woman who sent me the video, via email. Her name is Annie (remember, I don’t use my clients real names) She was very anxious about the whole situation and she was having second thoughts about having a medium come to her home. So, I told her that she could contact me when she was ready.

A few weeks went by and she reached out via email and we then had a phone conversation. I told her that I did not want too many details, just the basics. How many people live in the home, their names (first names only), and ages? Did she own or rent the home? What is the home? Has there been other things that seem paranormal happening in the home, or just the video incident?

Her answers: She, her husband John, and her two sons, Brian and Charlie have lived in their home for 8 years. They own the home. The home was built in 1952 and they live in Long Beach. They are the third set of owners. Her older son Brian just left for college, and she says that Brian is a sensitive. He can sense ghosts and energies, but blocks it out.

Now to what Annie says they are experiencing in their home: Items are moved. They hear voices. The TV turns on and off. Their clock alarms go off without them setting them. They find cabinets open all over the house. She thinks there are at least two to three spirits in the home. She is starting to feel annoyed because she can sense them lurking and watching all of the time. There is so much activity that she feels like she is going crazy and she feels helpless.

We then set up a day and time for me to come and investigate. (I do not ask for the exact address until the day of the investigation). This was August 2023, and Annie’s home is in Long Beach, which is a 45 minute drive depending on traffic. I would usually have someone drive me so I could open and mentally prepare, but Annie was already anxious about me coming there. She had mixed feelings about having me come for a couple reasons. The main one was that she watched too many ghost hunting shows on TV and was worried I would come there and stir shit up and leave. She did not want the activity to get worse. So, I explained to her very clearly, that I don’t work like that. I am coming there to help her family and help the spirits that may be there. I figure out what is going on and I help families with a solution. If that means I keep coming back to help…I WILL. I always investigate with the utmost of respect for the family and the spirits. I told Annie that it is her home, not mine. I am just the middle person to help bring light to why a spirit or spirits are there and what their message is. Then I will help her with the solutions depending on what happens during the investigation. Then, she can always contact me if she needs more guidance.

With all that being said….I hopped in my car and headed to Long Beach. I also was feeling a little anxious. I kept playing the video Annie sent me in my mind. The desire to get there, and be in the home, and read its walls,and feel its energy, was exhilarating. I was ready.

As I get off of the freeway and head towards Annie’s home, I start feeling tightness in my chest, and my mind is in over drive. My thoughts are becoming muffled, like they are someone else’s thoughts enveloped with mine. So I pull up to the house, and Annie and her husband John are out front waiting for me. I then feel their anxiety. I get out and introduce myself, but I stay near my car. I then ask them nicely if they could please go back inside and I will come to the door when I am ready. They both looked at me like I was crazy, but they went back inside.

I paced in front of their home, and held on tight to my quartz crystal. I just had to clear my head and regroup. (By the way, it was 100 degrees out). Then I stood there staring at their home. The home itself had great energy. It was an adorable little old home. It felt welcoming, so I went up to the door and knocked.

I explained to Annie and John that their anxiety took my senses for a little spin, but I was ready to see what was happening in their home. As I walked in I was automatically drawn to the main living area. But, I wanted to talk with Annie and John first. That is when their younger son Charlie came in. Charlie told me that it was his friend Cam that actually took the video of the cat and the apparition. He was in the shower and could hear Cam yelling.

I asked them not to say anything else about what has been going on in the home, but if they could take me for a tour through the home.

We were standing in the dining area which is part of the main living area. There are big windows on the front of the home and sliding doors to go to the back yard on the other end of the room. Centered on the long wall of the room was the fireplace. We then stepped into the kitchen. That is where the video was shot. I went to the far end of the kitchen counter and turned around to look at the door way where the apparition was spying. The kitchen was tiny. In the video it looks way bigger than it is. To the left of where I was standing was a door to the back yard. I went out the door to look at the back yard. I could feel energy pouring over the fence. I would have to reassess that after I finish my walk through.

Next to the kitchen is the hallway to the bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom was at the end of the hall. I could feel the energy that was pouring over the fence, pouring into the master bedroom. The bed was up against the wall that ran along the long side of the house, and there were windows on each side of the head board. That is where I saw a little old lady looking through the window on the left side of the head board. I will reassess that after I finish my walk through too.

As I go to leave the room and go back to the hallway, I hear walking the feet shuffling down the hall. I ask Annie, John, and Charlie if they hear footsteps and what sounds like feet shuffling in the hall? They said they do. They all looked shocked, granted that was the first time during my walk that I said what I feeling.

I then moved down the hall. As I passed the bathroom and Charlie’s room, there was no concerning energy changes, but I could still feel the little old lady outside peering into the windows. I then got to the last bedroom, which is Brian’s room. Their son who is away at college. I could instantly feel that Brian is a sensitive. The energy in his room was different. Not bad, but stifled. (Let me explain. He has abilities but puts a wall up and pushes his abilities out). I then saw the little old lady really clear outside his window.

Before I moved on, I had to talk to Annie and John about what I was seeing and feeling. I asked if they or Brian had ever mentioned seeing a little old lady looking through the window. They said Brian has mentioned it several times. At this point the little old lady is talking to me. So, I told them that this lady says she lived next door. Then she shows me the number 5. So I tell them she says she died five years ago. They then said that Brian said that is who he sees looking in his window. Her name was May and she did pass away 5 years ago. I told them that May says her son lives there now, and she worries about him. She was trying to get Brian to go over and see her son. Annie could not believe what I was telling her. The son does live there and he is kind of a recluse. Not very social. Keeps to himself. I told them that May would appreciate it if they would just check on him every once in a while. I think May was satisfied with what I told them because she disappeared.

As I left Brian’s room to go back to the main living area, I could smell cigarette smoke. I asked Annie and her family if they smoke. She said no. I asked if they smell cigarette smoke in their home. They all said they did. Sometimes it is a faint smell of smoke and sometimes it is a strong smell of smoke. That is when I saw the little old couple standing in the main living area.

I then asked the family if a couple lived here before them and are both of them deceased? They said yes. I then could feel my chest hurting, the male spirit was the smoker and died from emphysema or something related to heavy smoking, so I tell them this. Then my stomach starts hurting and cramping, I could feel the female died from something internal…intestines or gallbladder. So I tell them this. Now this old couple is communicating with me. So I am telling Annie and her family what they are saying as they are talking to me. (The family has validated everything I have told them)

They are very much still living in this house. They loved it there. They are the reason for the odd things that happen around there. That’s who they hear walking in the hallway and who is opening cabinets. Annie then asked if they are the muffled voices they hear, but can’t make out what they are saying? They tell me to tell her yes. I can feel by their energy that they don’t mean any harm, and they only have good intentions. They just love it there. So I tell the family this. Annie then asks if they could please stop moving or hiding things. That’s when the energy changed. I could feel pure sadness and worry. This couple was pointing at the space next to me. That’s when I saw the boy. He was standing near the door way where Charlie’s friend caught the apparition on video. He was the spying apparition.

He was a teenager. Dark shaggy hair, baggy clothes, and he had his hands in his pockets. I tell Annie and her family what am seeing. They all gasp and instantly Annie and Charlie have tears in their eyes. They both say the name Andy out loud. I hold up my hand so they don’t say anymore, and so I can read Andy. He shows me that he is awake, then asleep, then dead. Then he shows me that he took something, but he couldn’t wake up. Then I heard the word Fentanyl. He made me feel that it wasn’t on purpose.

I tell the family what he has just told me. They are in tears. They then told me that Andy died a year and a half ago, and he used to hang out at their house all of the time. Then he and Brian had a falling out. I then stop them because Andy is talking to me. He says the word “beanie” to me then laughs. I look at him and realize he has a beanie on. So I tell Annie and Charlie what he said. They both started crying harder, then they were laughing and crying. Charlie ran into the other room and came back with a piece of paper in his hand. It was the program from Andy’s memorial service. There was a picture of Andy on the front and he had a beanie on. They said he always had a beanie on. I told them that he is still wearing a beanie.

Now I could feel Andy’s energy changing.

He wanted to talk about Brian. He made me feel heart broken over his fall out with Brian, but that it wasn’t Brian’s fault. So I tell Annie and Charlie this (John is still there, but at this point, I think I completely freaked him out, so he sat down at the dining room table)

Annie then tells me what happened.

Brian and Andy were best friends. They did everything together. Andy was at their house all of the time. Ate there, watched movies there, and he would sleep over. Then Andy started hanging out with the wrong crowd. He and Brian would fight over it, but Andy kept hanging out with these boys more and more. Brian told his mom that Andy was taking illegal drugs, and that’s when Brian cut him out of his life. So when Andy died, Brian shut down. Brian has a lot of guilt and feels like if he hadn’t shut Andy out, he might have been able to prevent Andy’s death.

At this point I can sense that Andy’s energy is agitated. He says to me, that is why I am here. He shows me how he has tried to communicate with Brian. Then I can feel all my feelings are buried deep and I won’t deal with them. I realize that those feelings are Brians. I never had a spirit make me feel what a living person is feeling. It was intense and actually I did not believe it, until I told Annie what I was feeling. She validated what I was telling her. I also told her that Brian needs to release this guilt and talk to someone about it. Andy can’t rest until Brian stops blaming himself. Then Andy disappeared.

I sat with the family for a while and we talked about what happened. I then walked them through the home again and we cleansed the space together and I told them what I thought they needed to do protect their space better. The family decided not to cleanse out the old couple. They just wanted to protect their home and clear out any negative energy. As for the energy that I felt flowing over the fence, I told them what type of stones to place and where to place them for protection. Also, to cleanse regularly. And make sure they state their intentions when they are cleansing.

Annie said she would make sure Brian got the help he needed. She couldn’t wait to tell him everything that happened during my visit. I told her that if any of them needed me or had any more questions, they could call me anytime.

A few weeks went by, and then I got an email from Annie. She thanked me again, and said that Brian had started seeing a therapist. Also, she thanked me for taking the heaviness that had been weighing on her shoulders away. She was relieved that I validated all of the things that were going on in her home, and that she was not going crazy. Her home is now light, and peaceful. They still hear the old couple that used to live there (who think they still live there), but now they talk to them and have made it a normal thing in their home. As for the little old lady from next door, they have gone over to visit her son, but he is still not social, so they will keep on trying.

This investigation was incredible. I know I can communicate with spirits, but there are things that happen during each interaction with a spirit that sticks with me. This one was when Andy said “Beanie” to me. And the look on my client’s faces when I said it to them…..I will never forget it!! I hope Brian heals and Andy can move on.
